A stray Siamese kitty named Violet was found with a note on her collar. Found in Illinois, this kitty was taken to the Effingham County Animal Shelter. However, it was soon discovered that Violet was not always a stray cat. This kitty belonged somewhere.
The note on Violet’s collar was heart breaking. It said,
Bye Violet. I think that name chose you. I wish I could keep you. Bye Violet, I hope you get a good owner. To owner: Please take good care of her. By the way, I named her. Thank you! Love, Lacey.
The handwriting on the note makes it look as if it was written by a child. The purple marker fills the paper completely. The child really wished to find a good home for the kitty.
An animal control officer at the Effingham County Animal Shelter, Vanessa Skavlem said,
When we pulled it off and read it, it just tugs at your heartstrings, I just envision some child loving this thing, and knowing that they can’t keep it.
The results of the microchip scan were negative. So it was impossible to contact the previous owners of Violet. The shelter came up with another innovative way to find a furrever home for this kitty. The shelter took to social media and posted a picture of Violet along with a note.
The note read:
She’s very, very sweet and loves to be scratched on the head.
Cindy Murray was attracted to this post and responded immediately. She said that the note was clearly written by the child. Murray also said that it seemed that Violet’s previous family loved the kitty, but were unable to keep her with them. She wants to tell Violet’s previous family that their cat is completely safe with her.
